Good Lovin', The Rascals

Back

This clip originally was filmed at a teen club, THE WORLD in Miami, 1966. Silent film was shot so I tried as best I could to synch up whatever picture was available to the sound track. As rock history goes, these guys were monsters, with hit after hit. Dino Danelli was a one of a kind drummer. Felix was a white soul man with B3 chops and vocals second to none. Enjoy these youthful rockers at their best.

I just attended Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, awesome! Felix is an amazing guy, he even took the time to meet with us after the show to talk music! It was great!

I only wish there was the correct audio to this. And a better view of Dino's silver/black kit. Great vid, nonetheless.

And one more thing XMIR11OB... in the 80's, Buddy Rich (you heard of him?) was a guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Johnny said to Buddy "we know you're number one, but who do YOU consider one of the top drummers around"...Buddy replied " Dino Danelli, ya know, the kid who plays with the R&B group The Rascals. Theres something magical about him". CASE CLOSED

XMIR1OB-- Altho you think you know everything, I will respectfully disagree with you as to the drummers Dino "cannot touch". There are so many differences to their styles , it would be too much to type. But as a huge fan of Dino, I bet you didnt know that before the Rascals, Dino at the age of 16, was asked to sit in on Lionel Hamptons Jazz band ALL THE time. They saw talent that was UNHEARD of in those days. Believe me, I too am a fan of Ginger Baker, but their styles are not to be compared.

im so confused cus theres that other band called the Rascals with miles kane in it and stuff. Is it just a coincidence they have the same name?
lladsbid (Tuesday 14th of October 2008 11:40:56 AM)
these are the young rascals, i suppose they could have taken their name from them afterall they were formed like 40 after them

Another thing XMIR110B, it appears you've got more hang ups than a fuck'n art gallery. Only big headed bastards like you would start a sentence with the word "wrong". What makes you sure your ascertain is correct and that you're not a self opinionated cunt.

Hey XMIR10B, Glad you don't refer to the voting polls. You're choice of good drummers are in the monority. Just have a read. Any further comment you might write will be ignored.

Fuck.. Felix's voice is soooo good, plenty of grunt too. And Dino would beat the pants (pardon the pun) off any drummer going around, past or present.
XMIR10B (Saturday 4th of October 2008 10:23:45 PM)
Wrong. I can name three drummers he can't touch: 1. Ginger Baker 2. Ron Bushy 3. Carl Palmer
