I don't know raptaro, Neil was very much a product of his times,as were Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, etc. if they were to come out today and WERE able make it through the meat-grinder,cookie-cutter molds of todays record industry, they would most likely fit into the same catagories with Coldplay,R.E.M.,U-2,John Mayer,Dave Matthews,Jason Mraz, and God forbid,Michael Bolton and Celine Dion;)

Where can I get this version on CD? Is there a live record with this song on it? That's overwhelming!!!

Live at Massey Hall from 1970-71. Get it at Best Buy for 20.00, comes with DVD and CD. What you are seeing here is the DVD. The music is identical. Just came out about a year or so ago. Vintage.

yep as Neil put it himself in Crime in the City:The artist looked at the producer The producer sat back He said what we have got here Is a perfect track But we don't have a vocal And we don't have a song If we could get these things accomplished Nothin' else could go wrong.

I saw him in Regina in October, and listen mate, you don't have to worry. It was one of the best concerts I've been to all year!!! I envy you getting to see him again! :)

Do you think if someone was to come out with this song today as an original, that people would sit and listen to it? I believe record companies skip past artists like neil because its not what sells anymore. So in a sense, this masterpiece was at the perfect time and in the perfect place. Its a capsule.

People would sit and listen. The only problem I see is that people get discouraged by what sells. So the companies say: you're good but your music wouldn't sell, just look at the charts.
