Like most Americans, Alison Weir, the editor of a small-town newspaper in California, knew very little about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, other than what she had gleaned from the evening news or newspaper headlines. As a journalist, her attention was on issues much closer to home. Neither a muslim nor a jew, she nevertheless became more curious about the topic of the Palestinian uprising. And as she researched it, she became increasingly suspicious that the American media were not telling us the whole story. Months later, she traveled to the occupied territories as an independent journalist to find out for herself what the U.S. media seemed to be omitting. Three months after returning from Palestine, Alison Weir quit her job and founded If Americans Knew, an organization dedicated to quantifying the ways in which the American media was misinforming the public about the conflict. Ms. Weir explains her group's methodology, analyzes the data, and reports on the key findings. Palestinians are semitic people as well, so how can being pro Palestinian or being anti-Israel's policies and war crimes be antisemitic? Hezbollah and their ilk are disgusting but we can't ignore Israel's crimes against humanity. Personally I think we should stop or diminish our funding of Israel as they no longer serve a useful purpose in the post coldwar era. We hold the purse strings to the tune of 10 billion a year. Either make peace or be prepared to go it alone.

The Israelis are terrorists more than the Palestinians ever were and have been since the 1948 war. It's not just Palestinian Muslims that are oppressed. I have Palestinian Christian friends whose lands were taken from them by force by the Israelis. The suicide bombings are an incredible and desperate act by a frustrated and oppressed people. I love how the US news talks about Israeli casualties but never the Palestinian ones which are 10 times that of Israel. Stop supporting jewish terrorism.

Well, I am happy to see you admit that there is Palestinian terrorism. I'm sure you will fight that with great zeal... We just disagree that there is Jewish terrorism. So, the next time you see an Arab terrorist, I'm sure you'll alert the proper authorities.

The death threats add more credence to the claim that Jews control American media. One side has only rocks and the other side has tanks and fancy American weaponry, yet the one with the power is the victim? NOT!

Unbelieveable, $15.00 million a day!!!! Those who r criticizing are not stating she is wrong, and have not given any proof disputing this info but they are mad because she is reporting this.

Oh stop with your tired conclusion that Jews control all things. Weir roams with her set of anti-Jew friends, blaming Israel for everything. She doesn't care for the Arabs. It's all based on hatred of Jews. It is she who is skewing the truth. Her Arab v. Israeli "body count" means nothing. She fails to mention how Arabs use children as shields, and that's why they suffer their deaths. The blame for the deaths of innocent kids rests with Hamas and Islamic Jihad. (And no, I am not a Jew.)

Wrong sir. Let's see the examples: Israeli children are blown to absolute bits on busses and cafes and many other places. Have their parents in turn blown up Arab schools? No. Arab children are blown up when Arab terrorists surround themselves with human shields, usually children. Israel is civilized. The Arabs are not.
