August 2006 Since its foundation, Indonesia has proudly maintained its secular tradition. But this secularism is being threatened by a new law which outlaws anything that arouses sexual desire. As well as regulating the distribution of pornography, the bill will change the lives of all Indonesian women. "It regulates the way we behave, the way we dress, the way we conduct things," complains Yenny Roysad. Penalties for wearing revealing clothing, even when out jogging, will be higher than those for rape. Opponents of the bill claim it is an attempt to impose Sharia Law on the whole country. As former first lady, Sinta Nuriyah Wahid complains: "It is a breach of the foundations of the state," But already, over 20 municipalities have adopted bylaws based on the new bill.

We really hate sexual morality! Do not makes us to become like people during colonial age and backward age! Pornography is not immorality and anti-porn law is a sick thing!

Learn to live a Holy life before God, then you won't have issues. The New Testament commands people to live a moral, clean, modest lifestyle that reflects the nature of Christ to Muslims and others. This is not a Muslim thing, this is about God's will be done in Indonesia. It is good. Why should Christians fear from pornography bill unless they are living a hedonistic lifestyle ? Does not make sense. The "misconceptions" of pornography, well don't do those stuff in public do it at home.

Filipinos are the only non-Muslims supports controversial anti-porn bill. Filipinos and anti-porn bill proponents have no difference when it comes to morality. If Filipinos are the dominant people in Indonesia, anti-porn bill was now become a law and many Indonesians punished because of misconception of being pornographic

I totally agree with this law. Being an American who has been to indonesia and married to an indonesian women. This law is made to protect the public from individual and outsiders who seem to wanna pray on young women who only see prostitution as a way out of poverty. society shouldnt bear the burden of a people who are weak minded and foolish. there are some things that need to be changed from this bill but all in all its a good thing to keep a culture sound.
