i personally could'nt pick a favorite ablum or song from the hip,, to me their all just fucking great,, these guys really are unsung canadian hero's,, sure we all know them up here most likely seen them live a couple times,,but do we really give them what they derserve,, we are just as much influenced by the american rock scene as the rest of the world,,and great bands like the hip are left unoticed and underaprecciated, even in our own country,,we take them for granted, its disgusting really,,

I would LOVE to hear what Gord Downie has to say about being called a "Hero." Come on people, they're just a bunch of guys who happen to write awesome, amazing music and songs. Just enjoy, and tell anyone who will listen about them. HIP forever :D

In Between Evolution is my favourite Hip album. I mean, I love them all, but IBE really speaks to my musical ear.

I think that those of us that live in or are originally from border states are familiar with TTH. I got turned-on to them by a local Seattle AOR station that had NOIS in heavy rotation in '89, and I've been a fan ever since. Have seen them only 3 times, but, I rarely will go see ANYONE live. I'm picky. Got turned-on to TTP by the same station in '93. But, you're right, I would imagine that most Canadian groups are virtually invisible in the U.S. the further away from the border you get.

Im from ireland and thanks to my good canadian friend he introduced me to the Hip (and to other cool canadian bands) and im sooooooooooo happy he did. i would never have known that canada has such great music..........not all crap like Dion, Adams, and Avril Lavagne Considering also im from ireland that unleashed westlife and boyzone to the world - proves good music is hard to find what with all the banal rubbish on the box these days

They have a small cult following in Michigan, particularly in Detroit and the Upper Peninsula.

If you talking to me, then you are an idiot and your mind is small. I like different music styles and my comment has nothing to do with you what you are talking about. Stop trolling the boards attacking people and get a life.

I don't care. I said that because many of their fans in states comment on why they are not popular here. Your right - who cares.
