Norad Bunker

Back

During its heyday, NORAD headquarters was a hive of activity, charged with keeping North America safe from Cold War missiles. But today it's an expensive relic ready for renovation.

sad thing is im right now only about a km and a half away from cfb northbay's main enterance and in this video you dont see much of the base you only see the the sage aka the hole or the "underground bunker" and the new above ground one. they have taken most of the stuff out of the sage and still to this day dont know what to do with it. i say it should have stayed there and just put in easier access.

There are now four interesting articles on NORAD at DNotice (org). They are "The NORAD Papers", "The NORAD Papers II", "The NORAD Papers III" and The NORAD Papers IV. The last article (for the first time!) explains the mechanics of how NORAD radar operators monitored and identified aircraft flying over American airspace.

i can't believe they built the new facility right in top of the old one.

Why don't still used the nuclear bunker...it is more secure against nuclear strike and for sure arial bombing from russian aircraft who can easily destroy the New Norad center...

They better update it and fix everything. If the machines do ever take over, i.e. Skynet, they better have a reason to take NORAD rather than some other lame base seen so frequently in films and games, etc. I also want an apple II computer to take over and play war games with some punk kid in Washington, only to loose to tic-tac-toe, that would be AWESOME!
