Digital Ethnography is on the NEWS

Today, perhaps 7 hours ago, a news station was in our classroom doing a story on our project. about 6 hours ago i called my mother. and about a half hour ago, i watched it. www.49abcnews.com (the YouTube Story with KSU) If you dont know already, I'm a part of a class at Kansas State University..digital ethnography. Essentially, were doing a cultural study of YouTube. Not just an ethnography done digitally, but of the digital... Be sure to check out our professor's video, Web 2.0 (by mwesch). This is my reaction. with a dramatic look off to the left in the beginning.

congrats u all... but, i think u shouldn´t repeat the words "on the news" and talk more about the project, for me, it would be more insteresting.. but, everyone have a particular taste..

I'm unsure if its related or not but I've been trying to get into the collective head of.. well "us"... I actually had a dream of doing a site like this (and am currently working on it) but then discovered someone's already done it : chainofthoughts [dot] com Gotta admit its freaky when u come up with the same ideas as others, but that looks to be exactly what the web does. -plagiarists anonymous

Yes I'm serious. I'm an instructional technology consultant for my school. We're in the virtual worlds. A chemistry professor asked us if we could make him a virtual chemistry lab. haha

Hey are you guys into Second Life? yeah our campus itself isnt the most technologically advanced, but our class is like the littel rebel group.

Second Life would be interesting for your digital ethnography. I'm actually making a documentary about religion in Second Life.

perhaps the class will go in that direction..unfortunately i will be post program...technically! after the semester i will still continue and develop the study (5 months is...not nearly enough) thats fantastic your doing a documentary about religion in Second life...we discussed that a bit in class! i would be interested to hear what trends you are seeing...my prof would probably be interested too, ill send him your way.
