Fields of Vision: Pedestrian Safety around Forklifts

Back

Download a high quality version: http://tinyurl.com/6grcey This video, in dramatic style, puts you into the driver's seat and shows you how difficult it is for the lift truck operators to see pedestrians. The video then outlines simple ways pedestrians can help lift truck drivers see them - and avoid a serious or fatal accident.

I told my HR about this after I sent this to her at work. What a great vid to show for Plant wide meetings, safety meetings, etc.. Unfortunatley , my HR told me she could not show this because my company will not let vid's be shown from YOU TUBE! but any way, she sent it directly to her home comp to view. Thanks Karen!!!

I've been driving forklift for over 15 years and this is one of the best instructional videos that has dropped the ball. It's sad, because it's very well made but lacks one key instruction I've found in all other videos: THE USE OF THE FORKLIFT'S HORN!! A sound of a horn makes EVERYONE aware and more cautious. Come on people, you know better that that!

Agreed. We are trained to honk at every intersection in the warehouse where I work. It has helped ALOT and has probably saved lives.

you are right, at every intersection i use the horn, as we are trained to do, and if i see pedestrians in front of me i always use the horn, but as the video says you don't always see them

"This video is EXCELLENT" to show!!! I can only wish, that this video was watch by "EVERY FORKLIFT DRIVER" with the company I work for!!! You would not believe the driving "Hazards" in this place. There is absolutely "NO TRAINING", I witnessed where,"ANYONE CAN DRIVE THERE"!!! Some lead supervisors see "horseplay",happening in front of them, nothing is accomplished"!!! I know "OSHA" will be notified, either by me, or someone else!!! My Comment..."PLEASE SOMEONE SHOW THIS COMPANY THIS VIDEO"!!!
