I come from China,our country's CG isn't so mature as that in the US.But I like CG a lot.I think it is necessary to learn it in America.

Lol, i saw the making of 300 and the cg guy was saying the same thing! "With Lightwave, we could animate and model and render all in the same package, we didn't have to make a change and get it back a week later form another studio, we could just do it in Lightwave." I think these videos are mostly for people who know nothing at all about cg :D

yes. Maya is the software and can run in home pcs...in the other hand knowledge and experience is more difficult to get in home. (not impossible, but way slower).
