Top 10 cartoon theme songs from the 80's

Back



I was talking to a freind of mine and telling him how much cooler the cartoons were when I was a kid compared to the cartoons from the 90's and today. So that and retrojunk.com inspired me to make this video. The criteria for my top 10 is not the quality of the shows but the quality of the opening intro and Theme song. If it was a top cartoons of the 80's I would have included Robotech, Silverhawks, GI joe you know stuff like that.

Transformers? G.I. Joe? Dungeons and Dragons? Ghostbusters? Ninja Turtles? He-Man? Super Friends? Inspector Gadget? Voltron? Garfield and Friends? Duck Tales? Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers? And these are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Ten is not enough to cover the necessary ground, but I don't really agree with some of these.

The Jem intro had such great animation! Usually things from childhood are actually shabbier than you remember, but this one surprised me.

My favourite kids TV theme tunes include Ulysses, Mysterious Cities Of Gold (MCOG), Around the world in 80 days with Willy Fog, Inspector Gadget, and Pole Position. Although I don't remember all the cartoons featured, I do rather like this well compiled masterpiece.
