Judy Garland on "What's My Line?"

Back

From the episode of March 5, 1967, near the end of Judy's life. This old film is a bit grainy, scratchy and dusty, but it's interesting to look at. If Judy were alive today, she'd be 85 years old. Her co-star Mickey Rooney is 87.

ha ha I'm a straight girl and it seems straight girls and gay men love her. Are there any straight men here that love Judy? Anyone? lol.

I'm a straight girl and love her to death but it seems to me most gay men like her and romanticize her for her 60's period where she was struggling, more than her 30's and 40's period. I wonder why that is.

Wow, "Valley of the Dolls"... I think Susan Hayward took her part when she died... or she got fired from it or something. You're better off, Judy, that film was pretty dreadful. Who did Liza marry at this time that she was talking about?

yeah she was fired from the film. She died two years later.

Wow thats crazy I never thought or heard of Judy Garland being popularly known as a gay icon. But watching this is just crazy, I almost feel like im watching what shes doing right now in the afterlife. In my opinion shes just an amazing singer. Her voice can literally send you into tears. Just listen to her rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone" and you'll understand.

Judy Garland, Bette Davis, and Joan Crawford are all nostalgic gay icons. Of the three, I think the others get more whistles, but Judy gets more male YELLS. That says something (lol).
