While I respect your opinion, I do not find Robin Williams' portrayals of gay characters to be conducive to greater understanding of real-world homosexuals, because they rely on old stereotypes for titillation. I am old enough to remember Robin Williams from the late 1970s and I honestly do not believe he has done anything to achieve greater respect or acceptance for gay people. I'll leave it at that, and I won't comment further on Maher.
