Russia-EU relations

Back

Europe seems to be beset by problems these days. On the one hand the Lisbon Treaty, designed to shape the future of the EU, failed after Irish voters rejected it in a referendum. On the other, there is still uncertainty about the future of relations between Russia and the EU. How will the two sides negotiate a new strategic partnership? And what do they need from each other? The guests to answer these questions are Charles Grant and Timofey Bordachyov.

If Russia join EU good but the eastern side of Russia on the otherside of Ural mountains will remain with Asia. If you have a problem with that. Result = World War III.

Cheers to Russia and Ireland for punking the EU...the Irish economy is so much better off without the EU ...as for Russia, they simply need to cut the EU off from oil and gas for a few weeks to teach them some humility...Sarokzy especially is so arrogant.

No no.. we need Britain to be destroyed because since when it entered the EU after having its application (rightly) rejected the first time by the French they've just been busting our balls. Please get out, leave us alone and die on your fucking Island. 65% of Britain's trade is with the rest of the EU. I propose to ban trade with the UK and let it collapse.

the eu doesn't need Russia. Russia's gdp is smaller than Spain's and its exports and imports are similar to Spain's or Mexico's. Russia has a lot of old nuclear weapons the EU could build a lot of new ones any time it wanted. it has the technology and scientists and nuclear reactors. France and the UK have almost 3 times as many nuclear reactors as Russia. The EU defense system is probably better too, one nuclear missile on Moscow and Russia would be put back a long time.
