Bob Findley Trumpet solo w/ The Tijuana Brass on the Muppets
BackJust a little clip of a performance of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass on the 70s classic 'Muppet Show' I aquired. :) You see, that bearded gentleman on the right of Herb who plays this little solo and subsequently 'kicks it' w/ some muppets is my old man. So yes maybe a bit self indulgent.. but whatevs. PURE 70S CHEESE-LOVE FOE LIFE SUCKAZ!! Im off to my Yacht.

I have a few chuck findley recordings and this is my first vid of Bob although i heard he played trumpet as well. I must say he might be on the same level as Chuck but boy that chuck's sound is so amazing. I wonder how the two brothers compare up to each other cuz i know they are both killer players.

true!playing a brass instrument is way harder than guitar and do u kno y guitar is more popular? cause its easier i kno, i play bass, guitar and trumpet
i find bass the best the most enjoyable and entertaining but trumpet is by far the harderst out of the 3 and i hate admitting that lol ive been playing trumpet 2wice as long as ive been playing bass..
and u kno y a lot of people r called band geeks? cause theyre jealous and cant pick up a damn instrument
not me though theyr scared of me lol

I remember this evening, ca. 1994, at Sweet Basil in New York - Art Farmer was playing, and Herb Alpert showed up to say hello during the break, and Art really didn't even seem to know who was. I was 22, and sitting at Art's table (how I managed that?). Herb's wife was there, too, and it was a little awkward, because Art said so little, or said it all with silence. I see Herb Alpert Foundation supporting Bill Moyers Journal on PBS now. I associate him with my granddad watching TV.

p.s. anyone catch bobby in this years accademy awards pit band? he's too humble to ever say ir, but I know it is a matter of great pride for him to have played in the band (under the legendary Bill Conti) in virtually every band section for the accademys for the last, wow, 20 years or so? I tell ya my heart fills with joy when I hear those perfectly executed solos and queues and watch from home everytime to see the brief facetime he gets every time.. Ok, enough gushing :) carry on :)

Brass sections do not get any better than the Academy Awards orchestra. Was it Baptist, Findley, Bergeron and Luening? I know George Graham used to do it before Wayne.
I once had the honor of playing second to your uncle Chuck. By the end of the concert my sound was breaking up trying to keep up with him on the bows music, when the chart had us alternating playing lead for eight bars. He's ferocious.
