I agree with you all about the wording of "church" and how it doesn't really fit with Unitarian Universalism. Probably because alot of ppl feel the word church has a negative connotation to it, perhaps related to extremist religions. I am Unitarian and where I live, we call our hall a "fellowship" instead of a church.

So you like worship a building? A new religion? Wow interesting time we live in.

Hi guys! Sorry to ask but do any of you know a UU community here on the Philippines? I would be delighted to know. Please inform me either by response or PM. Thanks and warm regards!

I am all for acceptance and openess but we shouldn't be looking for a faith that makes us feel good we should be seeking truth..even if some of it is not what we wanted to know. Its the truch and "the truth shall set you free" right? We can't just pluck out some things and replace them with others. I know a few Unitarians and they are wonderful people but the truth has to come first.

I had been to many churches, always feeling empty. I took a religion test on line and UU came as my religion. I visited their church and it was what I have always been looking for. No pressure, genuinely nice people, talks that actually make sense, no hell or feeling unworthy. I finally feel good.

I think you're right. There's no indefference them. Metaphorical Jew and Samaritan are accepted and embraced as they are. No religious fanaticism, politics and extremism. But Love with every other positive virtue. Really a foretaste of Heaven.

Thanks for posting this. I was in books a million last night and I had a conversation with a lesbian couple and they spoke to me about UU. Nicest people I've ever met. I'm definitely going to check it out. Meeting people of like minds in the bible belt is really a breath of fresh air. It's been a long time I've looked forward to going to church. Wish me luck.

UU's are among some of the nicest people I've ever met. They should be the new majority and I hope they replace the Evangelicals in America. Thumbs up to this church.
I participate with their charity events and I'm an Atheist.

You know what I love about UU? That there are atheists, agnostics, humanists, muslims, christians, pagans, wiccans, secular people...
Ppl can't believe that this vast variety of faiths fellowship together at my church.
