it's not an intonation issue, it's the 'tempering' he's chosen for this piece. some people play solo bach with exaggerated note distances (flats real flat, sharps real sharp), i guess it makes the piece more dramatic or something...i play it with almost baroque temperament

a little flat on some notes....but it's not even a hair flat...it's like 1/2 a hairflat so technically it's still in tune

The way he gets the violin to sing and 'chirp' from 0:29 to 0:39 is incredible. I can see why people say he's the best at Bach!
