"Bible implements great ways to solve problems and to suceed in life ". I wouldn't disagree with that, but there are huge number of awful things also 'implemented' by the Bible. You have to take your own morality to the Bible to determine what is good and bad in it. So all in all the Bible is at best superfluous in the moral sense.

well I would have to agree with them. I happen to think that stoning children to death for being insulting is a pretty awful crime, but the Bible tells us that God demands it. Either the Bible is wrong or God is a sick tyrant.

Again, that is interpretation. Those lines were used for many centuries to condone slavery and it is only quite recently that the practice has been banned. You are viewing it through a modern lens and trying desperately to convince yourself and others that your book is the source of our modern moral values when the evidence is overwhelming that it is not. You are blatantly ignoring history, physics, biology, textual research and much more to read the bible the way you want. That is the truth.

playboyoft, No one is saying that there isn't some good things in the bible. What some of us are saying is that there are some very BAD things in there too. You can most certainly pick and choose what you like from the bible, but if you do so, don't say that it is the Truth.

You're taking things out of context Jesus also says if someone strikes you on your cheek turn the other 1 and pray for those that persecute you.(Are the people that are insluting/hitting you and hating you right? Of course not. Same here the slave master is evil but the Bible conveys for a person not to hate anyone including people that are wicked . And the servants in those times were not based on racial hatred a servant of King David was like someone hiring a personal maid or cook today.

In a round about, if you want to read it that way, kinda way. how about Ephesians "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh,And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven..." ? 1 Timothy "they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit." I can keep going...

I care about religion because the religious won't get out of my way They envy me: Yes my actions will lead me to hell, thank you now step back. Yes I like living in "Sin and Vice" don't like that? Walk away I don't need anyone to "save me" I don't care what your god or country says I follow my own code; no I won't change my wicked ways Yes I like driving fast (to those who follow the speedlimit "religiously") and I HATE braking, pull over or I will not hesitate to pass you (illegally if I must.)

Alot of people don't believe in God and they have told me themselves they want to destroy some of the Bibles teachings as far as what is right and wrong .
