The V/O heard around 4:20-4:30 sounds similar to the voice heard on the WVIZ (Cleveland) clip announcing who funded that station's airing of "Wall $treet Week."

It is from 1982. The Falklands War between Britain and Argentina took place that year.

That logo resembled that of KTVY (now KFOR) in Oklahoma City in the early 80's.

When the opening of this newscast was posted months ago, I wondered if this was truly a sign-off newscast or a rebroadcast from 11 p.m. The anchor's reference to "Nightline" coming up next answers that. I've got to say, that's one hell of a pat-down being given to that woman at 02:30! It certainly brings new meaning to the phrase "cop a feel"!

It was during the '80's that the practice of replacing slides-only, sign-off newscasts with repeats of the l0 P.M. or 11 P.M. editions began to truly take hold.

Or how he refers to Prague's "balliggered" neighbor, Poland, at 01:48.

More like the logo WNBC had from October-November 1980, before it was altered to its more familiar shape.
