I worked for Lowes too and their 'specialists' use to work about fifty hours which was ridiculous, all though they never complained. Anyway, their stores in California were working fourty because of state law. In the end, Lowes had to make it a national policy. Both B.B. and Lowes where I worked treated the newer and lower staff poorly. It was always management or rising 'stars' that seemed to be financially 'content' and felt they had job security or at least were company man and women.

I worked for a company where you had to wear their uniform, you had to pay for it out of your first paycheck, and before you could get your last paycheck you had to give back the uniform. Plus they stated they wouldn't refund the money since they were only destroying the uniform, not reusing it. The company broke a few rules in regards to state law and pay, and the corporation for the franchise took over their stores, fired everyone, and fixed the issues.

I've been mistaken for employees plenty of times. On most occasions, I wasn't even remotely dressed like the staff!

That's funny. I've worked for them and I can imagine management not seeing the funny side and panicking. B.B. deducts money from your first pay check to cover the cost of the blue shirt. Sad really, as it's not an option!!!
