You are right that SRK is a great entertainer because he's an actor for the masses. But to describe Aamir as merely a 'good actor' is to miss something very fundamental about his role in the Hindi film industry. Aamir is a relentless innovator of the visual medium, a brilliant seasoned actor, and a formidable director/producer. He has incredible international appeal and arguably the most interesting figure in Hindi cinema: cool, experimental, ambivalent and twisted. He's a legend.

Aamir's films, particularly his recent masterpieces, -the sensitivity and understanding of his artistic choices, his incisive directing ability displaying a perfect mastery of flair and realism, and his inept sense of reinventing his visual image are all thoughtful processes of his brilliant artistic style and commercial genius. Indisputably, Aamir is the only Bollywood actor/filmmaker who can turn heads in Hollywood today, and indeed he has already done it internationally.

When you think of SRK, you think 'Great Indian actor'. When you think of Aamir Khan, you think 'Incredible International filmmaker'. There is art and wit and humour and an unpredictability in everything he does. His incisive and sophisticated style, his sensitivity and intense singular vision in his recent masterpieces, and his inept sense of reinventing his visual image is what makes him a cutting edge actor/director, and a commercial genius.
