Sarah Palin on ABC News with Charles Gibson (FULL)

Back

NEW YORK (AP) — Charles Gibson's interviews with Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will form the basis of a special prime-time edition of "20/20" Friday, ABC said Wednesday. Gibson is traveling to Fairbanks and Wasilla, Alaska, for the first TV interviews with Palin since she was selected as John McCain's running mate. The first excerpts of the talks will be shown on "World News" Thursday. Gibson is having three separate interviews with Palin, ABC said. Parts of the interviews will be spread around other ABC news programs, including "Nightline" and "Good Morning America." The prime-time special, at 10 p.m. EDT, will also include a bio of Palin by ABC's Kate Snow and a round-table discussion on the presidential race moderated by George Stephanopoulos. The Alaska Republican has proven to be a ratings-grabber during her short time on the national political scene. Her speech to the GOP national convention last week was seen by more than 40 million people, according to Nielsen Media Research. A Fox News Channel documentary, "Governor Palin: An American Woman" last Saturday was the highest-rated prime-time documentary in the network's history, with 2.7 million viewers. CNN is also planning a Palin special this weekend. #24 - Most Discussed (Today) #11 - Most Discussed (Today) - News & Politics #78 - Most Responded (Today) - News & Politics #33 - Most Viewed (Today) #36 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Germany #40 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Australia #24 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Canada #39 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - United Kingdom #37 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Ireland #64 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - India #91 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - New Zealand #13 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics #33 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - France #21 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - South Korea #61 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Netherlands #79 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Poland #58 - Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics - Hong Kong #47 - Most Viewed (This Week) - News & Politics #29 - Top Favorited (Today) - News & Politics

I like Sara Palin, but I don't think she is anywhere near experienced enough at foreign policy, which is in my opinion is the most important qualifier to be president at this time.

Whoa what is with that cut of take just after she says "you can see russia from land in alaska" lol what else did she go on to say??!! She doesnt have what it takes to run a country! Oh and her oil credentials are not one to boast in politics, imagine how many fingers she has in the pie!

Mccain is out of touch, thats why he picked her as his VP. I am glad that McCain didnt win and I'm a republican.

This is just ridiculous for a VP candidate. How she didn't even know about the Bush Doctrine in her position, and had to be spoon fed what it was about, is one of the most obvious downfalls to this interview if nothing else. I don't know how some of these comments can state that Palin was 'acing' the interview. To me, it's frightening to not only see that Palin could have ended up becoming president, but that it seems that a good number of us would support such a level of ignorance.

The good news however, is that at least the majority had sense enough to keep her out. I'm thankful for all the people with common sense who helped Obama get elected.
