It would be stupid to expect, when such giants perform together, for everything to happen according to the book...it is a tribute to their individual genius that they are improvising at every moment..and the same is coming out as "dissonance" at times...we should appreciate the spontaneity and musical genius of each of these legends rather than pass comments like " i have seen better performances" or "weak performance" etc.

These great giants even in their weak performances can always be considered at their best. The TAANS are perfect, the LAYA is unmistakable - the total effect is perfect. It is most enjoyable even to see some weak performances too.

Carnatic Music is something that is melliflous to the "Carna" (ear in sanskrit)... It has nothing to do with Karnataka. However, Purandhara Dasa is one of the greatest devotional singer and widely considered as one of the originators of Carnatic Music. Please focus on the Divine Music .... all these details are trivial and secondary!

perhaps u r right. but the magic of both singing together overtakes individual gymnastics :)
