What where GFRR's major influences? What bands I mean. I really have tried to decrypt in their sound which ones could be, but I really can't. They ARE very unique.

I think they were atleast to some extent influenced by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Their first album is quite similar, with less experimentalism and more "funky" guitar rhytms.

Como dicen ahora..¡chida tu banda! maestro Mark Farner con Mel Schacher y Don Brawer; en requinto y voz, bajo y baterìa respectivamente. Muy buen grupo de Rock de los 70s.

Thank God I got to see GFR w/Mark one last time in '96.
Had their live album and played it till the grooves wore out in the early 70s.
Then got a job working for the Grand Trunk RR in MI when I turned 18...Irony!!

To those of you who are from Michigan, you know of the 1953 Beecher Tornado(F5). It went over Mark Farners home, blew out windows pushed his barn to a lean, touched down about 1/4 mile east and keped going killed over 130 people and he was lucky. All of the guys are great people. From real good familys.
