It's not a lie, because it's not a fact. It's an opinion. To me it just sounds like a bunch of chords over and over. He's not horrible but he's not like around the level of people like Cobain, Greg Ginn, or Guy Picciotto. Unfortunatly you don't see alot of really intricate playing anymore. Most is just chords or tremelo picking that only sounds good but is actually very simple.
