I obviously dont know Conor too well but I really dont think he gives a shit about success, I mean when he was on Jay Leno he was awesome and wore a cowboy costume and sang "when the president talks to god" ! which i thought was sweet, I just wanted to put that out there that i dont really think he cares at all about success, he may however want to effect more peoples lives with his brilliant music!

as a fan of both the songs used on the show prior to the exposure to the public and gossip girl, i think this is pretty win-win.

everybody who complains that gossip girl ruined the song should stop, its a way to expose songs like this to people who ordinarily never would have heard it, and it helps the artist reach a larger audiance. You dont hear them complaining, so you shouldnt either.

If you loved this conor guy you would want him to be as successful, and shows such as GG really do help catch the attention of the public, not just GG show viewers, but the GG fans that urge their friends/family to listen to this song too. Perhaps people you have more respect for or something. Don't be discouraged by this seemingly 'cop out' move :)
