So funny to read this. I grew up on the West Side and what I remember most about the winter time was that you could play outside without worrying about some hoodlum attacking you. The cold mostly kept them off the streets.

I miss Chicago winters whenever I'm somewhere else. Yeah, they're harsh. But there's something ultra-real about them, Mother Nature stepping in and reminding everyone who's boss, as a matter of course. They make you stronger.
