I have not seen this guy for a long time until to-night. I met him in our dance club 16 years ago. One day he told me that he could never learn dancing from a book or a video. He always rushed to a lady who ever showed up in a dance 1st time & even married one for several months. Now he still could not dance the basic figures in any dance! Tonight he asked the prettiest lady to do an Argentine Tango. Well,he WALKED on the dance floor from the beginning to the end of the music!---dancewu(dot)net

Social dancers hate International style dancers; South American dancers hate International dancers; Argentine Tango dancers hate International dancers.... It is my observation that the most hated one is the BEAUTIFUL dance one could dance in this world, simply because it is the most beautiful and most difficult dance to be learned,People gave it up for the easier ones but only attacking why international Ballroom Standard and Latin are so bad!Are they?! SOUR GRAPES! THAT IS ALL!--dancewu(dot)net

I do not understand your need for sweeping generalizations. I am sure there as many forms of dance as there are languages and cultures. The challenge for each of us is to find the dance(s) that resonates within each of us. I find it tragic that too many people feel that, in order to celebrate their favorite form(s) of dance, they have to denigrate other forms. What a toxic waste of time and energy.

da: It started 10 months ago,Salsa Latinos attacked the International Latin here, then the Argentine Tango people attacking the International Tango World Champions Marcus and Karen Hilton by calling names such as "ROBOTS","OSTRICH" etc. And then the younger International competition dancers(Aceyblade and larrybardo, etc.)attacked the World Champions Donnie Burns in order to win the World Championship!-The short history of down-grading the opponents for personal gains all here!-dancewu(dot)net

The issue is tolerance. So long as you know what it is you like, what difference does it make that there are others who will criticize your choices? You can try to convince those people of the rightness of your choices, but in the end, those people are not living your life, and they can't stop you from liking what you like. These people are not worth your time unless you are more like them than you would care to admit (I am hoping that is not the case).

da: You have many deep thoughts here! I have many personal reasons to do all these but I do not want to go into details for obvious reasons, but I thank you very much anyway. You have discovered what Benjamin Franklin had found in his life time; sadly to say that I am not there yet. But it would not be too long now. Because finishing my ten International Ballroom Dance books taking up most of my energy; plus a book on architecture about building housing in China.etc.........---dancewu(dot)net
