Another idea for the YouTube Community vote if you are against or for the idea. These 3 Legendary players, are not cheap recreations of some other player out there but are extremely original. Too many bands today are cheap Malmsteen-Wannabe rip off players. Very few people try to emulate these guys in their style because it is not easy being this original.

I personaly think the technique of John is straight forward and and fast, Joe can tell you where every note is in every scale in every octave which makes him more like a traditional player, and vai is like an exotic pre-bend, 1/2 bend guy, basically an "out there" sound that works. I mean cmon how can you not be a little "out there" if you've played with Frank Zappa back in the day!

Yeah i think the same. John and Joe are both traditional and Vai is on the other side of the spectrum. All 3 very talented never the less.

John Petrucci's solos might have been more tasteful in this than vais or satrianis. John blows me away...he plays things that actually make sense and never a load of bullshit...he always shoots straight...vai is the technique master...satriani is just way out there in the stratosphere in his guitar ideas...great at the blues though.

seriously?
you're gonna sit there and say that when it was satriani who TAUGHT steve vai? and petrucci blows man, there's a difference between playing fast and playing well. and mike portnoy and john myung are the only good things about DT.

This is your opinion. Vai has more prestige than both Satriani and John put together...there is no question about that. Satriani is great and yes everyone knows he taught Vai, but don't forget that Zappa taught Vai a lot more than Satriani probably did...so your opinion is not necessarily all fact. I like Satriani, but he is kind of out there. He writes good music, but nothing timeless like Passion and Warfare and Images and Words. Petrucci would Disgrace you even if you practiced for 30 years.

they might not care about bars, however i think they have some "thin" agreement of where theyre going with the music, and then just kinda roll from there. but i dont know, havent seen them live, or talked to them.
