United Arab Emirates National Anthem

The Trucial States of the Persian Gulf coast granted the UK control of their defense and foreign affairs in 19th century treaties. In 1971, six of these states - Abu Zaby, 'Ajman, Al Fujayrah, Ash Shariqah, Dubayy, and Umm al Qaywayn - merged to form the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They were joined in 1972 by Ra's al Khaymah. The UAE's per capita GDP is on par with those of leading West European nations. Its generosity with oil revenues and its moderate foreign policy stance have allowed the UAE to play a vital role in the affairs of the region.

I love the theme of the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, as well as the culture of that country.

I lived there for 2 years. We had to sing this song every Saturday. No offence. But it sounds ridicilous to a Finn atleast. With the words bear resemblence to some Finnish words. Sounds comic when you say it in Finnish.

finn or not, the music is one of the finest of all anthems. it's a beautiful tune and you'll find that many of those who appreciate music rate UAE anthem to be amongst the best. As for words: in school every word, sometimes even the names of teachers sound very comic because they always tend to sound like something rude. But then one grows out of this phase!

hehe... i was there 11-16 years old and yes, we did fit a lot dirty words into it... but i've grown up since :)
