She is from calcutta. Its subjective but only she can say what she feels she is ,as in Indian or bengali or maybe both since once it was all India. She speaks bengali, her main language, as well as hindi. When asked she says Bengali ,if she feels she is she is. Bengalis have a lot of sensuality.Bips, Rani, Koena is mixed too. Btw i HAVE seen bengalis who look stunning like her :) End of the day we should be proud of her not pointlessly debating her ethnicity! Love & peace! xxX

"only she can say what she feels she is ,as in Indian or bengali or maybe both" This makes no sense. Indian is a nationality and Bengali is an ethnicity. Bengali and Bangladeshi are not synonymous with eachother.

No problem. Interestingly, people of Coorg are also anthropologically Dinarics. I am not sure if that is the reason why a lot of people believe that Aishwarya Rai is a Bengali (may be the Rai last name also adds to the confusion).
