Visual Studio is for the non-inspired programmers who want to make horrible code for horrible companies and don't plan on getting a bachelors or a masters. BCB is for people who get masters/PHD's and end up actually becoming programmers... Not just codemonkeys writing repetitive and useless code. Also, It is a very good thing to know both... But, as far as specialization and actual usage... BCB owns the crap out of anything from microsoft tbh.

I came here because I'm learning Jahshaka, but I have taken a couple programming classes... And I am positive that "high-energy" and "C++ builder" do not belong in the same sentence. =D

MFC is not that slow if you set the right compiler options

visual basic was good I can even say great for GUI's but not that good unfortunatelly for writing code that does something effective and fast, possible but not as easy as c++ fr example a perfect language would be Visual python lol XD of course without a widget toolkit and with a real compiler :P

+1. I Think That Microsoft's Visual C++ is Much Buggy Than Borland's ... But... is Smaller.. :(

Stick with Visual Studio if you want a job.
