The Style Council - The Paris Match (Tracey Thorn Version)
BackThe Style Council The Paris Match (Tracy Thorn Version) *Be sure to check out the original with Paul Weller singing! (My opinion is that both versions are great) ------------- Black and white images Wandering lives of different people I uploaded this for the song to be enjoyed! And hoped a few images with it might be too Rather than have just one picture throughout the whole song Models: Sasha Pivovarova Boyd Holbrook Snejana Onopka Jeremy Dufour Vincent Lacrocq Lyrics: Empty hours Spent combing the street In daytime showers They've become my beat; As I walk from cafe to bar I wish I knew where you are; Because you've clouded my mind And now Im all out of time Empty skies say try to forget Better advice is to have no regrets; As I tread the boulevard floor Will I see once more; Because you've clouded my mind till then I'm biding my time I'm only sad in a natural way And I enjoy sometimes feeling this way The gift you gave is desire The match that started my fire Empty nights with nothing to do I sit and think, every thought is for you; I get so restless and bored So I go out once more; I hate to feel so confined I feel like I'm wasting my time

A silky smooth voice in a cool mellow song, a brilliant combination.

This song reminds me also of my year abroad in Copenhagen in 1987. I memorized every single word of this song, wanting to be like TT. How amazing voice she has.

This songs reminds me of my year abroad program in Bayswater,London in 1986; its melancholy and beautiful at the same time. It wss the happiest time of my life. Thank you Style Council and TT

Perfect match. Paul's sublime original and TT sounding so inconsolable.
Both eminently listenable. Pretty sure I prefer both now.

I'm the wife of the account holder posting. I've been looking for this song since I destroyed my import EP years ago. God I love this version. I melt.

A rainy autumn afternoon in Paris...staring out the window...not a lot to do today.
It's busy out there but in the musty apartment where my flatmates and I live it's quiet. I finally have the place to myself for a couple of hours.
I make a fresh pot of Lavazza, light another cig and turn on bad, dubbed television.
I fan through today's Herald Tribune, bought this morning along with 20 Marlboro and a litre of UHT milk.
My student days of Paris back in the 80s. Nothing like it...
