Jihad Junior High - Pakistan
BackNovember 2005 Critics in the West argue that Pakistan's madrassas glorify terrorism and should be shut down. But any proposed reforms are bound to be controversial in Pakistan. At a madrassa in Pakistan, students are being trained by an army officer. Under banners saluting bin Laden, they pledge solidarity to the Taliban. This video, filmed in October 2001, demonstrates the links between the schools and military. The army uses the idea of Jihad to pursue its objectives in Afghanistan and Kashmir. "Who are we to tell them that they are militants or extremists or terrorists. It's all diabolical nonsense", states General Hameed Gul, former head of Pakistan's intelligence service. After the July bombings, it was revealed that at least one bomber had visited the madrassas. Musharraf announced plans to reform the schools. But these reforms have now been watered down. "We don't want to put 17,000 odd madrassas into jeopardy", explains Religious Affairs Minister Ejas Ul-Hug. Having already survived two assassination attempts by those who believe he is too Western, Musharraf is in a delicate position. He is telling the West what it wants to hear but real reform remains elusive.

I am not christian and I don't require a Jesus or worse a muhammad to interfere with my personal relationship with God. You can have God without religion, personal search is based sincerity and seriousness of seeking, instead of politicians and suicide bombers. Islam today is far dirtier than any church/synagogue/temple. If you seriously seek God and not attention or comradeship you will find him....without all the middlemen with there political books.

my friend, i sympathize whith your criticism of organized religion. Good ideas have been peverted into tools of violence. However, you claim to be close to god. Then why do you not believe in any of the revelations from god, whether they be from the jews, christians, or muslims. In islam, true islam, there is not middleman. There is only Allah (god). And, the journey to find god would be made easier by fellow followers, whether they be jews, christians, or muslims. Islam is the last relevation.

If you want comradeship, fellowship, support and all those other external things then you are not seeking God. What you are seeking in other words is entertainment for yourself and association with a set of people who delude themselves with exclusive association with God. If that is what you want, good luck. If you want more, then you have to seek in silence, communion with your personal God is very subtle and delicate, it gets easily
disturbed by mass propaganda/religion.

Think about it, if Allah is the only God, he should have been discovered elsewhere in the world too not just by Muhammad, who communicated his ideas to other minds, which then became propaganda/religion. Many religions have come before Muhammad's and many after (Bhahai, Sikhism etc), each one claiming to be the last. Since religions are propaganda, they do now want new propaganda to take their place, that is why they say they are the last.

This journey is within, you cannot have fellowmen inside you, if you feel the need for fellowmen you have not gone deep enough. Do you think you are going to be "lonely" when you are in communion with God ;D ?

most likely you are already a muslim , trying your favourite propoganda..any way if you are not doing your islamic taqiya and there is some truth in your statement, my suggestion is go to school.
shahada12 (Tuesday 26th of August 2008 02:09:18 PM)
my suggestion is for you to go to school. I'm not a muslim, and like in any religion, there are those who twist and use it to perform egregious acts of violence. My god, the christian church, until the reformation and even after, stained the ground red with the blood of those they killed in the name of christ. and if you're a christian, i suggest you learn about all the contradictions in your religion and then tell me of the truth in islam. you convert people out of fear.

I didn't mean to offend you in any brother. I'm coming to think that islam is the right path. I've told my family that I may convert, and their not necessarily supportive. Which angers me, because they've never pressed religion on me before. It will definitely be a different lifestyle, but a better one for me. I have a question, how do you manage to perform zalat or zakat, i forget which one is charity, in school?
Arabkid99 (Thursday 21st of August 2008 04:40:48 PM)
You didnt offend me at all. lol. By the way Zakat is charity and Salat is prayer. And to be honest with you I usually pray before I get to school and after I leave school. But sometimes me and two of my other Muslim friends perform the Friday (Jumma'ah) Prayer before class starts. So basically you can manage to do it in shcool just as long you dont miss any assignments.

By the way. If you want to see really really good debates on youtube, search Dawa in the Park (1/28) and watch all of them lol. The'yre seriously amazing. And also look up Shiekh Hamza Yousef if you havent heard of him.
