KTM and Bmw rules paris dakar.. that is where you realy need a reliabel bike.. That is why I think KTM is more reliabel than yamaha and honda... and because of what I have seen in 22years... autrian brand always made better pistons and cylinders than the japanese. same thing with snowmobiles. rotax austria rules reliability in 2 stroke snowmobiles.. they don`t use japanese snowmobile engines in smal aircrafts, but they use rotax...

does anyone know the comparison of the 530 and the 450 of this model? supposedly they are the same wieght. i dont know how thats possible. but does anyone know how they compare? also, are they street legal in California???

no the 530 is heavyer but only slightly by about 5kg... if that its only extra engine weight as the 520 sits in a 450 frame, the 530 will offer you more power on the road, but in the dirt it can be dificult to use as they tend to spin and dig in. go for the 450 if your stricly offroading, but if you like to ride home without being chased get the 520 because no coppa will catch you! lol hope this helps Cheers Paul

Kawasaki have bad quality. KTM have great reliability. if you KTM break, 99,9% your the one to blame.. only 1980-85 KTM 125cc had bad reliability but best performance 1980-85. my 89 KTM 125 was great.. and my, 80cc, 250cc, 525, 500, 380sx. 380sx was reviwed as the most reliabel dirt bike in 2000.. and it have more power than a 450cc 4 stroke..

Man, I wouldn't call kawasaki "bad quality" I would call them "okay quality" I would take a kawasaki over a honda any day and a 2006+ ktm over any bike. KTM had some problems in the start, I can tell you that I see more KTM's being towed from trails than kawasaki honda or yamamhas.

KTM 380 is more reliabel than any other dirt bike... 22years with KTM and I can say KTM quality is good like any other brand like honda and yamaha.. the bikes you se being towed is 99% because of service failure. wrong oil level, bad filter service+++++ have seen lot of kawasaki bikes, not race ready like KTM , bad wheels, handelbars, engine that don`t realy fit in chassis..+++++ don`t know how they are to day, but in the old days they look like crap.
