for dutchy: You're comparing apples and oranges. Strength, power, speed, coordination, agility, accuracy. US football has many of these traits. The running back may just hold it and run, but Beckham doesn't have to worry over any 300lb tackles. It's a mix of rugby and chess, resulting in specialized positions. The big linemen have to explosive and have great balance(not just be big) while the ball carriers have to have sprint speed and change direction quickly(like a soccer player.)

so..soccer isnt just stamina, you know you got to be able to deal with a ball at ur feet while running fast, be able to kick it. watch someone try to play soccer that has never done it before, it looks very unnatural. football u get to carry it in ur hands. and a sport where there are more than the occasional 300 pounder being paid millions... not to impressive. also football relies more on ur body type than natural skill, with soccer people actually need to be good at the sport, not just be big
