When my high school sang it, we started at 120 bpm, like it suggests... we didn't follow our director completely and ended at 144 bpm :P He was cool about it cause it seemed like we did it on purpose :P

It was composed by a Hungarian composer Lajos Bárdos who processed an old dance song.
