what this really neglects is the importance of hacking on such an extremely digitally based communication system.

How do you know we are not a simulation now? Maybe these things already occured and we are experiencing ancestor simulations.

also its not processor and space that makes technology advance so much , its the optimisation and advances of software

I don't think it will be that fast. Computers are not progressing is fast as they use to because of physical limitations of the devices. Soon, the memory size of computers will reach a limit, unless some new revolutionary technology surfaces, which as the moment won't happen too soon. The only way then to make computers faster is to optimize the programs, so they take less code and time to process. Either that or build larger processors but then you get other problems as well.

um , IBM are already on that matter of processors , they testing new chips using light to transfer binary instead if nano wiring
