Wedge fugue in E minor - Bach

Back

Fugue from Prelude and Fugue BWV 548 in e minor. Shows off the bass registers of the instrument well. Ask yourself who on earth allowed the makers to shove a mirror over the Oberwerk.

that mirror effect in the video it's so bizarre in this video, i like the crane shots although, ofcourse it would be so much better with an still camera the hole time and maybe some approaches by cut, but thats only my opinion. anyway thanks for uploading this, it made my afternoon better than it was!!

HÁ can you just please listen to the music? that's why i hate to tell peoples that i love organ music etc... they always compare it with church with christ and all these things... omg i just like it because it sounds evilish... it sounds powerful it doesn't sound divine... ok it sounds divine but not divine meaning god... it just sucks how you peoples compare organ music with church stuff etc...

Well, organs are prevalent in the church, particularly pipe organs. And many viewers equate the music coming from it, notably Bach as "heavenly." In this case, the music takes center stage, but the music itself is hardly "just for show". There's an element of Godliness attached to it as one listens as they sometimes grope for ways to describe it. And of course, each listener derives his or her own feelings about it, and are manifested in the comments.

That's true, not all people like it, both young and old. I've liked it since I was very young. I think there are a number of reasons, one of which I've always felt was that something like this wasn't "cool" and popular music was the thing to listen to. Oftentimes, when a young person is introduced to this when they had no idea it existed, they do in fact take a liking to it. It's compelling and addictive.

What's with the random camera angles?

Diese ist eine der bisher besten Interpretationen von BWV 548.

God I WISH this weren't a da capo fugue. I sometimes wonder if Bach had a deadline or something and didn't have time to finish it. He's the boss, if that's what he wanted, that's what he wanted. I just wonder though what he would have written were it not da capo.
