Yeah the kid is just some kid that showed up at the place. I think thats actually why all the infected showed up there. Still pretty fucked up but that's probably what I would have done too if my wife wanted to save the kid instead of coming with me. Those things are scary as shit. I probably would have broken my neck rushing out of the window or something.
