Dresden had sound of zephyer in whisper. Dresden now sounds very different from Kempe era, but they are now best orchestra in texture. Sinopoli has taught me so many things. There are always reasons why he makes mistakes unlike other stupid conductors who cannot read scores. I still mourn for his too early death......

It is called a "herald" trumpet, here in the US anyway. They come in various keys and registers, but are basically the same as a regular trumpet, but with all or most of the tubing straight, rather than coiled. They can be either natural, or valved as these appear to be. For obvious reasons, they are used pretty much exclusively for ceremony.
