again, that's a matter of opinion. the reality in kurt's situation (as it is for ALL famous musicians who die) is they go from famous celebrity to icon legend. there will ALWAYS be sentiment and partiality involved when deciding who's "leader" or "pioneer" of the genre's movement, especially with a story like kurt's.

Well Kurt was the leader of the whole Grunge movement and also the leader of Generation X. But after Kurt died grunge pretty much died too. but for the people who still followed Pearl Jam took over.
