HAHA. I hear you. This was not 'new wave' by any means. I thought this guy was a complete dork at the time. He was 'gay wave'. In retrospect, he's clearly very talented as a performer and as a singer. But he did not appeal to teens. I was a teen at the time, and wavers sought the Smiths, Depeche Mode, The Cure etc. All I remember about him was that he died of AIDS, and it was mentioned on local news. Everyone was terrified of the disease. RIP though. He was one of a kind.

Even though stuff like this in the 80,s was kinda goofy at least it was not like the cookie cutter acts of today.

Amen to that; 80's saw some real artists that surpassed the level of catchy music and excessive production values.
