Uncounted - The Ballad of Steve Heller

Back

http://www.uncountedthemovie.com All he was doing was his job when Steve Heller found "smoking-gun proof" that an electronic voting machine manufacturer was breaking the law in California. This is one man's story of standing up for liberty, freedom, and democracy - and then getting his ass kicked for it. From Uncounted's "Whistleblowers Should Have Their Own Trading Cards. With Bubblegum" Series. Also available: Million Dollar Programmer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7tjnuG-l6g What Happens to a Dream Deferred? The Tragic Story of Athan Gibbs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8ewsDxXQD4 Bruce Funk: Why Diebold's Disreputable Distinction is Dead On Deserved http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwHX7zDVkuc Clip from UNCOUNTED: The New Math of American Elections, a documentary by Emmy award-winning director David Earnhardt, that takes a close look at an election system where millions of votes routinely go uncounted. UNCOUNTED also shows how the election fraud that changed the outcome of the 2004 election led to even greater fraud in 2006 - and now looms as an unbridled threat to the 2008 election.

We need better whistleblower protection for people like Heller. Whistleblowers need legal assistance to guide them in how to reveal the illegalities of organizations they encounter without jeopardizing their lives or causing them to be charged with a crimes for coming forward. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Proof positive that we're 90% of the way there, and you know where "there" is.

"$2.6 million?" "Apologizes for failure?" That's it? Those people should do more than just pay a fraction of their money and simply saying 'sorry, we fucked up.'

I hope that a concerned citizen with some serious extra money can pay for Steve Heller's legal bills.

i feel bad about the violation of attorney/client privilege -- everybody's entitled to an adequate defense even if they're guilty. but seriously -- this was an important, selfless act, and steve is paying the price for committing that particular crime. the fact that there were criminal charges brought against him was unconscionable, in my opinion.

this is a great video, and heller is a true american hero. it is shocking he was forced to pay a fine. he should have been given a million dollars bounty for his great work! no nukes/no more stolen elections..harvey wasserman

Too bad we didn't wind up in a position to disbar every member of the Jones Day firm - EXCEPT Steve Heller, who is not a lawyer anyway, and no longer employed there; and incarcerate most of them as accomplices to the Diebold crimes. Then, maybe, incarcerate all the Diebold principals, and bankrupt the firm even more rapidly than public opinion will, in huge fines.

CIRCULATE! impeachforpeace. org/ImpeachNow.html The "Do-It-Yourself Impeachment" IS a legitimate procedure. I called several representatives offices and asked. Please visit /user/paddedshell for more information. "In previous waves, over 500,000 downloads of the document represented over 1.7 million mailings". Given Bush Administration's DIS-approval rating and the well over 225 million citizens old enough to vote... WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT! Copy and paste this everywhere.
