I saw this story on an actual news network, and they gave a slightly different story. First off, they said that the teacher actually resigned. She's sueing the school, b/c she says that they forced her to resign. The reason given for why the school wanted her to step down was b/c she frauded the gov't, or something like that. Basically she lied to the gov't, which she did. She took a sick day, so that means that she got paid by our tax dollars while she went on the Howard Stern Show.

Immoral, or questionable behavior on the part of a teacher is many people's business, like it or not. If a teacher doesn't like it, perhaps a career change is in order.

This particular teacher is obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer either....calls off sick then takes the day to go on Howard Stern? If I were a teacher, I would be incensed and would not post support of her.

Teachers should not have to act like nuns, but there should be a limit. Behavior that affects their standing in the community as a professional charged with the education of children should be actionable by their superiors. Teaching is not the only occupation in the world that has to have this kind of monitoring either.

Immoral was probably the wrong word. People in certain occupations have to maintain a certain standard of behavior. Going on Howard Stern in a bikini for some stupid contest (after stealing time by calling in sick) doesn't cut it for a schoolteacher. Maybe not immoral in the strictest sense, but questionable for someone in such an important position that is held in high regard in the community.
