It's the early 80s, often confused by those who weren't there as the 70s. There isn't a clear line between the two but it is distinguishable.

Heheh, I was a kid then but I still remember it. Used to watch programs like that with me mam n dad. I remember getting excited about the technology and thinking my Spectrum and Vic20 were amazing.

That should probably be the other way 'round. If the American comedy industry isn't nicking ideas from Britain it's flogging dead horses. Bringing utterly pointless films out based on long dead series that should have been laid to rest a long time ago reeks of fail. That said, My Name is Earl was grand, I hope it doesn't die a death like the rest.
