Wild, I'm originally from Olean. Sort of a small, dull place. I'm surprised that he would have even played there.

I have pictures from the concert I just posted about. The only thing he really wouldn't talk about is why he was using a Rogers foot pedal and cymbal "L" arms on this Slingerland set. He had just left Rogers and went to Slingerland and actually was a bit surprised that I noticed & that a 15 year old kid was savvy about different drum equipment brands and accessories. You will notice in this vid the Rogers Swiv O Matic cymbal holder for the splash. The ride cym holder is also Rogers Swiv O Matic.

At 2:56 the a chunk of the solo was cut out. WHY? That's bullshit. Put the whole thing up or don't upload it. 2nd, In 1970 when this video was made I was 15 and went to his concert with this big band. It was at a steakhouse in Olean, NY. At the intermission, he was eating a steak dinner alone and let me join him alone for over an hour. Answered any questions I had and was just a really sweet guy. After,he gave me his sticks from that concert.

I like the way he has his drum set up. I have to be sitting higher than my drums as well. The snare drum tilting away improves tequnic.

Look at the sweat pouring off him. Playing like this would surely kill most other drummers.

The great Buddy Rich (God save and rest his soul). I idolized him hack in the day when I was in the high school band and saw him and his band in concert at BGSU. I resented him however for his egotism and his reputed violent temper that he leashed upon his band menbers between shows.
