i cant show you proof because if you watch any of these gracie videos its always a brazilian guy doing a brazilian martial art, going against some nobody in brazil doing a japanese martial art who has had a sucky ass teacher and cant actually fight, ill agree some techniques are a bit outdated but the reason traditional ma is so good is because theres a technique to every technique or counter technique its been around for 1000's of years not a coouple decades

show me proof ... nearly every video i have seen of traditional martial arts vs modern martial arts ... the modern martial artist will come out on top ....
and dont say "they arnt allowed to throat punch or eye gouge" cause bare bones its the same as a punch and they usually dont land one hit ....
i believe it comes down to the fighter as well ... modern day martial artists train in simple practical techniques and they train hard ... while the traditionalist learns outdated techniques ...

lol I dun think jap understands that his methodology of fighting is crap compared to mixed martial arts. They call it MMA for a reason... refining and utilizing a bunch of MA's to optimize the chances of winning.

holy crap this is dangerous.

see japanese theres more than one take down than a double leg.. and distracting with other moves does make the double leg easy.. but basic wrestling take downs apply.. you should really watch more BJJ before criticizing it

actually you fail, the throat punch can collapse the windpipe, the eye gouge is fatal also, 2 youd love to see the martial artist try to do it? he would, they we train our techniques for decades not 5 years like mma fighters.. and your 3rd fail is that mma is a fad like pro-wrestling used to be... martial arts have been around for 1000's of years, and its not going anywhere soon, sorry you fail, go take someone to the ground and get roflstomped

I disagree, MMA is just the next evolution in martial arts. People have pulled their heads out of thier asses and realised what works and what doesn't. Yeah a throat punch might kill someone but its a very low percentage move. Even if your not a fan of BJJ, 90% of fights end up on the ground so why the hell wouldn't you train for it.

im not denying one on one bjj is great because most people dont know how to fight on the ground. BUT what im saying is that being on the ground is a horrible idea because if he has a friend, you'll get stomped. Also i feel its more of a sport, you never see any "illegal" strikes (groin hits, eye pokes, throat punches) and unless they take judo, they only know the double leg takedown which is easily countered by a simple knee to the face
