I'd say the number of hackers is increasing every day. I read the VAC bans hackers the same way Blizzard has been doing it for wow. They ban as a large group not per infraction. After the first two wave I think we will be able to see if it works effectively for this type of game. Some games, including GoldenEye 007, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Timesplitters, Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Call of Duty: World at War, have "auto-aim" as an option in the game. This is not the same as an aimbot; it simply helps the user to aim when playing offline against computer opponents usually by slowing the movement of 'looking/aiming' whilst the crosshair is on or near a target.
