The African grey is the only animal in the world that can reason enough to hold a basic conversation,why dont scientists study them more its truely a talking animal,i dont mean counting and colour reconition shit ,but their ability to learn and understand language. Perhaps Sparky would out wit the tefal brains.

The best one ours does is when the phone rings, he starts to have a conversation with himself. Ours tells one of the dogs to get out when he comes into the front room or when he goes upstairs he tells the dog to go and see him. Says goodbye in the morning when we leave and hello when we go into the room. Parrots are clever really, know a lot more words then what we think and always know when exactly to say them.

sparky only ever said bas**rd once after the vet trimmed his beak we never say the b or c word and never thought he knew them ,they seem to target swear words and always seem to use them at the right time.

Just like children, you must be careful what you say around African Greys. Mine says, "Get over here you f*#king bastard!". I wonder how he learned that? lol

Oh they know exacly what they are saying,Sparky tells us what he wants tells the other parrot to shut up when she starts to scream or the dogs barking he even tells the dogs to sit which they do,sparky waddles up to me and says how you doing can i have a biscuit dad we never taught him dad.

You dont teach your parrot how to swear, well you can but they normally just pick it up when your talking to people etc... African Greys are amazing talkers though, people say that they don't know what they are saying but they do, when we come into the room ours says hello, and when I go upstairs he shouts my name and tells me to 'come here' lol, they deffently know what they are saying, I have heard they have the intelligents/brain of a 4 year old.
