Michael Jordan 1987: 44pts Vs. Akeem's Rockets
BackThe Houston Rockets always gave MJ's Bulls a tough time in the regular season. With the greatest finesse center ever (and perhaps the greatest center period) in Olajuwon patrolling the paint, MJ's competitive juices rose to the nth level. Olajuwon and Rodney McCray together played hard and tough with sticky defense, lane clogging and body blows whenever MJ took it inside. However, MJ's pure athleticism was no match in these years as his individual creativity knew no bounds. MJ assaulted the Rockets with smart jumpers using screens, double-team run arounds to get quick shots and whatever improvised forays to the basket his hands and hang time would bring. It took a miracle shot at halftime by The Dream and a miracle tip-in at the last second for the Rockets to eke this one out against MJ's athletic masterpiece. MJ's show was brilliant and the Houston fans went home happy. We all win with MJ it seems.

It's intresting to know Jordan quitea few critics back in the 80's...His game was already at a high level even as a rookie, yet his talents were doubted. It just became more polished as he matured. Even now looking back on his achievements there are still those who don't rank him as # 1...Thats sad.

There is no number 1 player ever.

Well if general consensus considers MJ as the GOAT, though there are a few who question this, then in retrospect he is # 1, its the same thing. You might think otherwise....thats your right....But until you can prove that what I just said is a load of garbage...Then I just take it as your opinion.

The GOAT has it's flaws in a team sport with people playing different positions. I just consider MJ the best shooting guard ever.

Cool I respect that. I just think his all round game was and still is unmatched even by todays standards...Thats why his legacy stands above the rest.

This is same logic, that I'm using with Jordan and bird, Jordan had to make more free throws than bird to shoot what he did for his career. bird made less and attempted less free throws than Jordan making it easier for him to maintain a higher free throw average, he was not a better free throw shooter than Jordan he attempted less end of story, you lose you die

Therefore the more impressive test taker was the one who got 27 questions right, rather than the one who got nine right bitch.
